Technical Specialist / Trainer

This position forms part of our training team and provides training courses (both formal and informal) for clients using our content management system. This is an exciting multi-dimensional role where the duties include:

  • Conducting formal (classroom style) training in the use of our various software packages
  • Conducting informal one-on-one training when appropriate
  • Forming relationships with clients and helping to proactively plan and manage their training requirements
  • Developing, maintaining and adapting generic product training materials including course outlines, training handouts and exercises in consultation with business and product specialists
  • Conducting internal training courses for Squiz staff

Our Trainers are expected to present well, have excellent communication skills and have a proactive attitude to problem solving.

The ideal Trainer will:

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a proactive attitude to problem solving
  • Have previous training experience
  • Have a good understanding of web technologies and be fast at learning new functionality and extensions as they are added to the CMS
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of the issues involved in an organisation adopting a CMS
  • Have the ability to code fluently in HTML
  • Have content writing or proof-reading skills (this is not mandatory)
  • Provide hands on technical support and implementation skills to Squiz project teams and clients

Squiz has a permanent training facility in Sydney and also conducts training in Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart. Trainers may be required to make short interstate trips to our other offices or to work onsite with our clients.
