Squiz Q&A with Adrian La Grange, Service Delivery Manager

This week, we caught up with Adrian La Grange, Service Delivery Manager in our Brisbane office.

Squiz: How long have you had the pleasure of working for Squiz?

La Grange: A little over 2.5 years.

What's helped you to get to where you are now?

A true love for customer service, technical background and a solid work ethic.

Is there any advice that you’d give anyone who wanted to do something similar?

Always put yourself in the customer's shoes whilst still looking after Squiz’s interests.

What do you get up to on an average day?

I make and receive a lot of calls and send a lot of emails. Sounds mundane, but that’s how we interact with customers in 2016. I do also have a fair number of face-to-face meetings with customers, which I do think is still critical in my role.

What do you love the most about your job?

Interacting with customers and helping them to be successful.

What was your dream job when you were a kid?

Young adult = Working as a design engineer for a performance car company.

Kid = the usual: fireman, racing car driver etc.

What one thing do you wish you had (skill, thing or other)?

The ability to understand/communicate with animals.

What’s something random about yourself?

I DJ Uplifting Trance and House.

When you’re not being a full time Squizzer, where do you most like to be?

I can’t choose one so: socialising with my partner in crime (my wife), behind the bar at Pink Mammoth (Burning Man), or driving my R34 GTR (her name is Erin)

What is the biggest upcoming revolution in the ‘Marketing World’ according to you?

Possibly the resurgence in usable VR technology. I chose that despite targeted ads via  facial recognition probably arriving sooner.

What attracted you to join Squiz?

The ‘About Squiz’ section on the website sounded like the kind of “startup” culture I was craving after being a “number” at a big corporate.

Finally, what’s been your best day at Squiz so far?

I guess the day Nat offered me the job, because the rest has been better than I could have hoped for in something that I call ‘work’.
