The Challenge

Due to an increasing number of users interested in the company's business, Totalizator Sportowy has been forced to build a revamped, transparent corporate website, which would be capable of handling an average of 60,000 users a month.

The new website needed to be in line with the latest standards for user experience, responsiveness (RWD) and accessibility to people with impairments, as per level AA WCAG 2.0 standards.

When thinking about a new website, it was important to Totalizator Sportowy that the navigation was simple, this would facilitate easy data searches and increase conversion rates from contact forms.

Also, due to a large number of people maintaining Totalizator's website, the client needed an advanced and free Enterprise CMS system that was easy to manage. The web portal has over 40 subpages, 120 pages of content, 300 graphic files, over 1500 press releases and over 1000 sponsorship offers – governed by 50 people who manage the content on particular pages.

The Solution

Squiz Poland implemented the design project in 3 weeks. The entire process was based on Squiz Matrix CMS, which enabled efficient and intuitive content management and content approval on each user level.

All the website’s graphic elements and information have been adjusted in compliance with all UX, RWD and WCAG 2.0 level AA rules. As a result, the new website displays seamlessly on all devices and is available to people with sight and motor impairments.

The database content management was also optimised. Navigation is simple and fast, taking milliseconds to search and return answers from over 2000 records, which gives an impression of content being shown on the fly.

During delivery, Totalizator's employees had full control over the progress of work and could make adjustments and ask questions on particular elements on an on-going basis.

The Result

The new website went live on September 24 2015 in accordance with all of Totalizator Sportowy’s requirements. The website is now fully responsive and meets all accessibility standards.

The number of users on the site has been increased, so too has the number of subpages. These pages contain relevant content for key target groups in a clearer and more accessible format than before. Each page also has a reduced loading time, so the right content gets in front of the right people, at the right time.

"Squiz Matrix is a robust and stable CMS system, which gives us practically unlimited website expansion options without the need to write complex source code".
