For this roundtable Toby Margetts (Strategy Director, Squiz) and Kat Collins (Marketing Automation Consultant, Squiz) will explore the concept of Summer Melt in Higher Education. As Higher Education competition continues to build alongside student expectations for continuous engagement, the possibility of applicants melting away over summer, turning from an applicant to a no show as semester begins, is becoming a growing problem.

Thursday, 24 October 2019
9:00am - 11:00am
Old Street, London
About the Event

As autumn settles in, universities will be realising their true conversion of applicants following the summer period. The Summer Melt is a concept well known to Higher Education in the US, and is becoming more and more prevalent in the UK.

Over summer as students go through clearing, receive their A-Level results, take interim jobs, and start to enjoy their independence, the motivation to attend Higher Education can melt away. Either by deciding not to attend at all, or to attend through a different provider or course, this can have a devastating effect on your otherwise healthy application rate.

At this round table we will be discussing:

  • How to keep students engaged over the summer period and prevent them from turning into no shows.
  • What struggles higher education face in content, technology and engagement that prevent you from keeping students engaged.
  • How you can overcome barriers between data and technology to create continuous engaging experiences.
