How we use Squiz Content

When we decided to optimize squiz.net for AI search visibility, the first question we had was, where do we even start? There are hundreds of pages, a dozen topics, and a few places we could start, but not really an obvious one. So we ran Squiz Content Intelligence on our own site, and this is what it showed us.

It broke down our site into twelve topics, and you can see that some are flagged as AI-ready and some are partially ready. For us, three topics jumped out immediately: content management, conversational search, and enterprise search. These are our core product areas, and if anything needs to be AI-ready, it's, it's these ones.

Conversational search was already showing as AI-ready. That's great. We can leave that for now. Enterprise search had four high-priority issues, so that was a slightly bigger task. But content management only had one high-priority issue. That felt like an easy win, so that's where we started. If we click into content management right here, the suggested priority issues are listed.

When we click into it, the instructions are right there with an explanation of the issue. It looks like there are some inconsistencies in our terminology around our visual page builder. Well, Content Intelligence tells us why it matters.

Basically, it's because AI can interpret these as separate features when we don't really want it to. And importantly, it gives us a suggested revision for us to review and apply straight into our CMS. And to find which page we need to edit, all we have to do is click this link. We weren't going by gut feel, and we weren't overwhelmed. We were able to make decisions based on real data, and it's not just a one-off. Next time we add a new product area or publish a batch of new content, we're gonna run the same process and have the right data points to make an informed decision.
